BBC Global News selects Cataneo’s Mydas commercial inventory software

BBC Global News has chosen Cataneo GmbH’s Mydas Air Time Sales software system to manage its commercial inventory across its international channels.

Mydas offers an end-to-end cloud-based process for BBC Global News’ advertisers, allowing BBC offices and affiliates around the world to book, plan and execute advertising campaigns using just a web browser.

Nick Charlton, SVP Commercial Operations for BBC Global News, said: “We selected the Cataneo Mydas system as it provides strong and flexible campaign booking in a cloud environment. This allows our teams to work much more efficiently and focus more time on optimising client solutions and adding value where it matters most. Cataneo’s professional approach and their ability to support our team globally was also critical in making the decision.”

“We are very proud to have been selected by BBC Global News as it continues on an exciting path to embrace and advance international best practice in the international ad sales market,” said Cataneo CEO Renato Rocha Pinto. “That goal perfectly matches our product-strategy.”

Cataneo, based in Munich, is Germany’s largest independent supplier of advertising sales systems, supplying its Mydas system to global clients. The system books more than $5bln in commercial inventory every year.
